October 1st – International Day of Older Persons

Good day all

Monday a good day to give a shout out to  all of our members and supporters  who have  been with us  for so long – a few  for the duration of the Organization we champion. They form the base on which we grow.

The theme for the Day this year- “Celebrating Older Human Rights Champions“. –  is  linked to another anniversary that  is at the core  of the UN’s work.  The 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. How many remember  the  contribution of  a Canadian- John Peters Humphrey – to that document?  His original draft text in pencil is in the archives at McGill.
